The Karnataka State Government has declared Hoskote Local Planning Area vide Notification No: UDD/118/BemRuPra 2003, Dated: 03-03-2006 as per the section 4 -A of Karnataka Town & Country Planning Act 1961. The Hoskote Planning Authority has been constituted vide State Government Notification No: UDD/ 31/ BRA/ 2006, Dated: 19-07-2006. The Planning Authority Office is functioning under the provision of the KTCP Act 1961 and the Karnataka Planning Authority rules, 1965. The Independent planning authority office (Own building) is functioning at 1st Cross, Venkatadri Layout, Mission Hospital Road, Hoskote, Bangalore Rural District-562114.
The Chairman will be the head of the office and he will be appointed by the State government. The member secretary being the chief executive officer of the Hoskote Planning Authority will look after all the activities of the office.
The main function of the Planning Authority is to prepare Master Plans, Town planning schemes and to enforce the Master plan proposals.
Hoskote Planning Authority is one of the authorities coming under jurisdiction of BMRDA.
The HoskoteLocal Planning Area consists of 316 villages out of which 300 villages including Town are in HoskoteTaluk& 16 villages are in Bidarahall iHobli of Bangalore East Taluk. The Local Planning Area is bounded bythe north ShidlaghattaTaluk of Chikkaballapura District, Kolar & Malur Taluks of Kolar District in the east, Tamil Nadu state at the south and Devanahalli Taluk of Bangalore Rural District, Anekal & Bangalore East Taluk of Bangalore Urban District in the west portion.
